Performer | Choreographer | Dance Teacher

Bri is a triple-threat performer based in Toronto.

Her creative practice centres around storytelling and how musical, physical and textual narratives shape characters onstage. Before moving to Toronto to gain a BFA in Performance Dance, her early training included 9 years of competitive dance at Leeming Danceworks, where she worked closely with established choreographers such as Emma Portner, Linda Garneau, Hani Abaza, David Norsworthy, and Kristen Carcone. During her post-secondary education, she performed in full works by Hanna Kiel, Hassan El-Amin, Alysa Pires, and Dylan Crossman of the Merce Cunningham Trust. Bri was a company artist with NEAR&FAR Projects and continues to be a freelance artist for multiple dance collectives. Bri enjoys choreographing for multiple dance studios across Ontario, and is currently on teaching faculty at The Dance Institute. Also, Bri is certified in ADAPT Jazz and RAD Advanced 2 Ballet syllabi. She has furthered her performance training in Greece, New York City, North Carolina, and Los Angeles. Bri dreams of one day working on Broadway.

RECENT PROJECTS

WRITING: I was featured on Frog In Hand’s blog to feature my podcast (Art)versations. I spoke about the power of conversations surrounding the arts and art-making. Thank you Colleen for having me!

CHOREOGRAPHY: My piece “Hold on, let go” premiered at the Common Ground Dance Festival in North York, this October. Danced by students of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre and the Conservatory of Dance & Music. Thank you to TOES FOR DANCE for producing the festival and to my dancers for their artistic voices!
